Thursday with PT and Debrief: “The hour has come!”

Good morning! It’s our last full day in Memphis, and we are starting with our last session of Brinkley History with Pastor Tim. We had the opportunity for Pastor Tim to join us during Bible Club last night, and it was a gift to see how loved he is by all of the students who attend Club and the school.
This morning’s session is based on John 12:23-26 where Jesus begins by telling the disciples, “The hour has come for the Son of Man to be glorified.”
When we consider praying dangerous prayers, we must remember the hard and the glorious commands of Jesus. The grain must die, but it will bear much fruit. We are called to hate our lives, but we will gain our eternal life. We follow Jesus on Calvary, but we join Him in His glory. We becomes servants of Christ, and the Father honors us. It is good to lay down our comforts for Christ. It is good to suffer in the name of Jesus. It is good to love as Jesus loves and lay down our lives for the sake of the Gospel. It is good to pray for revival, but revival will bring with it many difficult things. We each have divine appointment, and the Lord is faithful to bless and equip us as we go. What an honor it is to prepare the group for the seeds that will be planted after our departure. What an honor it is to bring love and nourishment to the seeds that are growing steadily. What an honor it is to be the laborers the Lord sends out to reap the harvest He has prepared!
Brinkley Heights has seen a history of pain and suffering. The faithfulness of this ministry throughout the decades has brought hope, light, and the presence of Jesus to this community. Praise God for the generosity of His church to support the work being done here.
Our students have an opportunity to start a pen pal communication with the students they’ve connected with during this ministry. Please pray that our students are faithful in their connection, bold in their communication of the Gospel, and wise in their use of this program.

Exodus 4:11 “The Lord said to him, ‘Who gave human beings their mouths? Who makes them deaf or mute? Who gives them sight or makes them blind? Is it not I, the Lord? Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say.”

2 Corinthians 3:3-6 “You show that you are a letter from Christ, the resul to four ministry, written not with ink but with the Spirit of the living God, not on tablets of stone but on tablets of human hearts. Such confidence we have through Christ before God. Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, nut our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant - not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.”

Debrief shoutouts and memories:
- Everyone did an amazing job at the laundromat. Everyone was on deck for anything that needed to be done and was involved with all of the ministry aspects. It was an awesome day.
- Emery had a special connection with one of the girls who was braiding her hair yesterday.
- Channing had a connection with kids who were teasing him but their laughter and joy was worth the jokes!
- The connections with the students are impactful to our students who get to see the love of the Lord changing lives in real ways that we don’t take notice of in the day to day. The joy of the Lord is powerful, and we can be encouraged to look for His hand working every day of our lives.
