“After 32 hours of travel split between 3 planes, a bus, and plenty of walking in between, we finally made it to our boat and set off on our voyage down the Amazon River. While it took a long time to get here, it has been a generally smooth trip thus far. Everyone made it safe and sound with ALL of our luggage. Praise God! The first thing many of us noticed upon arrival was the difference of moisture in the air. Compared to the dry desert of AZ, Brazil feels like a tropical sauna. We also got our first taste of dealing with a major language barrier. Luckily, we have our amazing bilingual Principal, Mr. Rugg to save the day. We also have wonderful crew of translators to help us out from here on out. They have helped us get settled in on the boat and tonight we will begin training for our week of mission work ahead. We are so excited!”
