In Luke 10, Jesus began sending his disciples out two by two to proclaim the Good News. Today we had the opportunity to model this calling by dividing into teams and going into the community of Helene to share the Gospel and pray for it's people. While half our team was proclaiming Jesus, the other half stayed at the clinic and painted classrooms for the school.
Later in the day, the students spent time playing with the children in the community. We decided to end our afternoon by jumping off one of the local docks into the ocean. This adventure required our team to climb up a crudely made rope swing to escape the water! We had a blast!
We ended the evening with a fantastic dinner consisting of a local favorite, baleadas. This dish is made of a flour tortilla, filled with a smear of mashed "refried" red beans, crema, and cheese (Google it)! It was an amazing treat!
Now, we are going to sit back and enjoy the cool breeze of the evening. Pray for us tonight as we prepare to share Jesus again tomorrow!
