Costa Rica 2025
The Mission:
We believe that God has gifted our athletes with abilities and skills that create a natural way to connect with people all over the world. Through playing sports we are able to connect relationally, then share the ultimate reason that we love to compete and work hard in our sports - to glorify God.
In partnership with High Performance Sports Costa Rica, students will be engaged in multiple sport ministries. This trip is focused on playing sports with children and other teens through either competing against local teams or running sports clinics in volleyball, soccer, and basketball. This year we would LOVE to field a full soccer team so we can compete against other high school students in Costa Rica!
Students will spend most of their trip building relationships with the local community and serving in various capacities ranging from educational talks, painting classrooms, visiting orphans, and/or other mercy ministry opportunities. Students will spend a few days seeing some of the national parks, beaches, farms, and waterfalls of Costa Rica at the end of the trip.
Half of the trip will be spent in the city of San Jose, then we will travel to the Caribbean coast to Limon to serve with Senora Harrison's family, attend church, and enjoy the natural beauty of Costa Rica. The two locations are completely different cultures with one being more Latin and one being more Caribbean influenced!

The Travel:
The group will be leaving from Phoenix Sky Harbor and will likely have two flights to get to San Jose, Costa Rica. Travel time is about 10 hours total including layovers. In country we will spend most of our trip traveling to our service locations on a private bus. Students will need a passport to enter Costa Rica.
The Accommodations:
While in San Jose, students will be staying in the HPS "Hotel" on their farm. Each room has a bunk bed with full sized mattresses, two students will be assigned to each room. Once we move to the Caribbean coast we will be staying at a hotel with three or more students assigned to a room, each with their own twin bed.
Applying for this Trip:
Registration will appear as "Closed" on all EUS/GL trip-specific pages. "Closed" registration does not mean that students are unable to apply. All trips have this status because students do not directly sign up for a specific trip. All students interested in a US or Global trip must apply to the General Application linked below, where students will share their top 3 trip preferences.
