The past two days in Rincón have been full ones for our group. On Wednesday, we spent time with the younger kids in the community running Kids Club before heading out to do SMT and connect with people throughout the area. It was another great opportunity for our students to spend time listening, praying, and building relationships.
Yesterday, the team jumped right back into serving by painting another home in the community and continuing SMT with families around the area. It’s been incredible to see how willing everyone has been to step in wherever help is needed.
When we returned in the evening, all the groups gathered together for a debrief night with nearly 200 people in the room. James, Bella M., and Ethan represented Valley and shared about their experiences from the week. It was a really special moment to hear students reflect on everything they’ve seen and been a part of.
The kids have done a lot of reflecting this week, and their servant hearts have been more and more evident each day. We’re incredibly proud of the way they’ve shown up and served. We ask that everyone continue to pray for the communities we spent time in and that the Lord’s hand remains on them long after we depart.
Right now we’re almost to Cabarete Beach on the north side of the island for a fun day together. It’ll be a long day of bus rides, but the sun is out and we’re making the most of it before we head home tomorrow.
