As we sit in the Street Reach facility this evening, the students are praying through the entirety of Psalm 23 in preparation for the week ahead of us. It is such an honor to place a small role in the work Street Reach is doing in Brinkley Heights/Memphis.
We were welcomed by the Street Reach staff and spent the evening learning about what our week will look like. It was a great opportunity to hear more about the heart of Street Reach and the community we are serving. The students were able to spend time together playing basketball, volleyball, and settling into the space.
Please pray for tonight’s rest to fill our team with new energy and excitement for our first day of ministry work and Bible club tomorrow. Pray that the students we encounter are open to hearing the word of the Lord and that Holy Spirit speaks through our students clearly. Pray for courage for our students as they encounter unfamiliar circumstances and, for many, share the gospel boldly for the first time. Pray for wisdom and discernment for each student as they consider Scripture and how to share the Truth of the Gospel to each person they encounter!
What are you most excited about?
Emery - “Probably being with the kids. I think it’s going to be super fun!”
Addison - “Getting to visit this state and sharing the love of Jesus with the kids and people around.”
Everett - “Honestly, just being here. I get to learn about more people’s life instead of staying with the same people. I get to branch of into different things and do things I don’t do at home.”
Please continue to keep a look out for daily updates from our team! Remember that students will not be on social media or keeping their phones during the week. They will have a daily opportunity to say “Hi” during free time, but a few have already decided to use this week as intentional time away from their phones. Please pray for their focus and active investment in the ministry work they are doing each day.
