Brewarrina! (3/7/24)

We made it to the red dirt of Brewarrina on Thursday!
Arriving shortly after noon at Brewarrina Christian School (a “sister school” to GPCC), we unloaded into Girls’ and Boys’ dorms as fast as we could because the BCS students had prepared a surprise with which to greet us: a welcome dance of their country!

The rest of the day consisted of:
-getting to know the BCS students
-unpacking
-eating a fast lunch
-experiencing the phenomenon that is toilet frogs (yes, actual frogs in the commode - ribbit!)
-learning about some deep aspects of the history of First Nations people.

Under the blazing afternoon sun, Pastor Isaac spoke to us and answered questions that will help us better share the love of Jesus with the people of Brewarrina.

Later, our team helped cook and clean up, we heard more testimonies (by Ruby H. and Isaya C), devotions (led by Isaya C.) and most of the team tasted Vegemite on toast!
