Hello Families!
Today was our last full day in North Carolina, so we made sure to have some fun!
First, we had a nice breakfast at the church and a morning devotion led by one of our inspiring students, Noah Gonzalez. Noah has been a huge student leader on this trip, and the other kids were eager to hear their peer speak on Ephesians 5, regarding the weight of sin and how we are to be “like a Child” to God in response.
We then headed to the Billy Graham Library—a museum all about the life and mission of North Carolina’s own, Billy Graham. Here, we walked around the exhibit rooms and gained a big insight to Billy Graham’s legacy to the Christian faith through videos of his life and his preaching and the people impacted by him, and through artifacts of his personal items and artifacts given to him throughout his crusades. After the tour, there are faculty set up to pray for you, so we held a prayer center together! We browsed the gift shop before heading to lunch.
After lunch, we headed to SkyZone—a trampoline park with lots of trampolines, an obstacle courses, rock climbing, zip-lining, foam pits, trampoline dodgeball, and trampoline basketball. The kids had lots of fun getting some energy out!
We then headed to the mall to give the kids a nice ice-cream treat at the Hagen-Daas inside the mall. After ingesting that sugar, the kids then got another burst of energy to walk through the mall and get clothes and items they desired from the stores!
By that time, the kids got pretty hungry again, so we headed to a nice restaurant for our last team dinner together. We talked, reminisced, laughed, and came together to remember the ups and downs of this week, it’s impact on us and our impact on others, and how we have grown spiritually and individually on this trip—how we pray this energy keeps going even in AZ.
We hit the road back home to have our last devotions, ending the night with some acoustic worship and a devotion on the Armor of God (Ephesians 6)—how each piece of armor can be used in situations, to help us spiritually and emotionally, and how we can use it to continue helping others in the same manner.
We then packed up in preparation for an early rise tomorrow!
Flight Information Recap: Departure is scheduled for 11:05am (CLT), arrival is scheduled for 12:55pm (PHX). Our flight’s number is AA2240 if you would like to track it. If the flight is delayed, we will email via ServiceReef with updated information if necessary. As well, each student will have their phones tomorrow morning, and will be instructed to contact parent(s) upon landing to give you time to travel to Sky Harbor in time for us to de-board and grab luggage. We know tomorrow is a work day, so if you will be later than 1:30-ish, please let your child know and please have them inform us as well. We will stay at the airport until all students are picked up.
See you tomorrow!
