Thursday: Human Trafficking Ministry

Today was a double ministry day. We started with Damaris House where we learned about this unique ministry for trafficked women. We couldn’t work directly with the women because of their strict guidelines, but we received education on what the ministry does, and the problem of human trafficking in Greece. We started by visiting a safe house that Damaris House is currently building with the help of several donors, many of them from the United States. When completed, they will be able to house about 12 women and a couple of chaperones to help them regain their independence. They are currently helping around 12 women through various rental properties, but look forward to doubling that. Again, we were so impressed with all the questions the students asked as they grappled with the reality of this need and how to best share Christ and meet the physical needs of the women.
