Saying Goodbye to Tanzania

Last night we completed our debriefing and woke up this morning ready to start our journey back to Arusha so we can start the long journey home. We stopped along the way for lunch and some shopping. Our safari bus driver, Gido, grew up in a farming family in this area and when we asked him what he thought about the tourism here, he said he was very grateful for it because it was the basis of their economy and greatly improved their way of life. We are grateful for the opportunity to bless Tanzania even in this way, as we have debriefed these last two days.

Saying goodbye to this beautiful country and these amazing people will not be easy. Please pray for our students as they re-enter their day to day life, forever changed. It can be tough to come back to so much when we have grown a strong connection with those who have so little. We are trusting God to keep our new friends, even after we leave here.

Please come back to this site soon. We have several more pictures to post, which won’t be available until we have more reliable Wi-Fi, most likely in Paris. Pray for safe and restful travels. We leave here in the middle of the night and land in Phoenix about 30 hours later. We appreciate your prayers!
