Not even sure what day it is anymore. Today we woke up and were loaded and on the bus at 5:45. The goal was to drive back to Arusha and load the safari jeeps for a day out on the safari.
While we have been here in Tanzania, it has been rain almost every day. Much like Arizona, this area of Tanzania is desert landscape and has a rainy season, which apparently is now. We had to reroute our drive back to Arusha due to some roads being washed out. Our bus driver, Sam, was amazing and had such skill at avoiding rocks and choosing the driest parts of the dirt road. But, even with Sam at the hello, we ended up stuck int he mud at one point. Of course, the boys were eager to jump out and push the bus to get us back on track. They tried several methods until they ended up pushing the bus backwards and then Sam took the bus through and made it.
Just one more incredible experience they have had on this trip. And, would it really be a Tanzanian mission trip without getting stuck in the mud?
