After a beautiful time of singing and sharing with the students at Kitumbeine Primary School, we headed out to the gravel field for some games. The school’s coach suggested a VCS vs Kitumbeine soccer game as they have their own team. Challenge accepted! The immediate connection of universal things like soccer, a smile, holding the hand of a little one, an eye roll, and laughter showed how much we all have in common as God’s children.
There were students who have studied enough English that they could also have basic conversations with us. These students start school at 6 and it is a boarding school. They only go home for a few holidays each year. The school goes through class 7, according to some girls who are in class seven. Fun was had by all.
