We woke up to a beautiful sunrise at Brewarrina Christian School, a peaceful start to what would become a full and memorable day. When we walked into our dorm hangout and kitchen, we were greeted by ants everywhere—and Juan devouring a full onion... After some ant spray and a quick round of teeth brushing, we were ready to head into town and explore Brewarrina.
Bradley gave us an interesting and informative tour of the Brewarrina Fish Traps, sharing the history and culture of his people. After the tour we enjoyed a delicious lunch at Muddy Waters Café, where the local police tried to pull a prank on the students by fake arresting Coach Bare right in the café. Thankfully, he was eventually freed from the handcuffs and the police car and the fun continued.
Later we headed to the local pool to swim with kids from the town. Pastor Doug and his sons taught us how to play footy (rugby), which was a highlight for many of us. After heading back to the school for quick showers and dinner, we returned to town for youth group at the local church. We played tag, ate snacks, played games, danced, and worshipped together. Juan, Ellie, and Miss Marshall shared their testimonies, and we also heard a few testimonies from local students. It was a special evening together, growing in faith and fellowship as brothers and sisters in Christ.
