We started the day in Dubbo and headed out early for the final drive to Brewarrina. On the way we stopped for brekkie at Soul Food Depot & Gallery before continuing through the changing landscape. As the roads grew flatter and the dirt turned red, we spotted dozens of emus and several kangaroos, and our excitement grew knowing we were getting close.
When we arrived at Brewarrina Christian School, where we’re staying, we unpacked, made a quick lunch, and then joined the classrooms. The children quickly gravitated toward us and were so excited to have us there. We had the privilege of watching them perform a traditional Aboriginal dance that represented their culture, and we spent time singing worship songs together and hearing from Pastor Isaac and Steve, the school’s principal.
After the children headed home for the day, we spent time together in devotions, made dinner, and enjoyed a beautiful sunset bike ride through the bush. We finished the night playing games and enjoying each other’s company, grateful to finally be in Brewarrina and excited to see the blessings God has in store for tomorrow.
