Last Night!

We started our day today organizing and putting away items in the churches shed as well as doing some light cleaning around the church. We then hit the streets of Homer to see a little bit of downtown and do some thrifting! We found some good deals! After lunch, we headed out to the bait and tackle shop where the boys unloaded the trucks yesterday and met with the owner of the shop there. He very graciously lent us some fishing poles and bait so we could beach fish for halibut. It was a fun venture but ended fruitless unfortunately. He then took us out on a boat ride around Gull island where there are usually lots of fat seals hanging out but today because of the snow there was not any. The snow was beautifully falling as we were out on the water. We saw two bald eagles on one of the mountain islands. We also saw several otters frolicking in the frigid waters. It was really cool to see a little bit of animal life before our cruise tomorrow, where hopefully we will see more Arctic animals. After dinner, we then went to a lookout point where we could see the whole town of Homer. We each remembered a child or a person that impacted us this week and we prayed for them and then we prayed as a group for the whole town of Homer that Jesus would be real in their community. Our group picture is from that lookout point, which is stunning as you will see.

After our glacier cruise tomorrow we will be driving to Anchorage, getting dinner and then heading to the airport for our 11:15 departure.
We are flying Alaska Airlines flight 68 arriving Phoenix at 5:40 AM. We will see you all Saturday morning bright and early!
