Luke Fuller started our day off with a devotional about Mark 11:22 focusing on the contrast between Little-faith and Great-faith. Jerseley prepared porridge, hard boiled eggs, toast, yogurt, granola, and a fresh fruit salad. It was fortunate we had such a hearty breakfast because the whole team participated in demanding, physical labor on the church campus for four hours. There were no clouds to be had today so the heat really did a number on all of us. Everyone worked on a variety of projects including pulling weeds, trimming trees, moving concrete chunks, picking up trash, emptying out four different classrooms which were filled with miscellaneous items, cleaning said classrooms including mopping and setting up as dorm rooms or actual classrooms again, hauling trash to a giant dumpster across the church campus, moving four refrigerators, moving boxes of clothing into a shipping container and organizing, hauling mattresses and bed frames to the same shipping container, and organizing miscellaneous items for another team to sort through and distribute. It is unbelievable how much we accomplished!

Exhausted, sweaty, and once again hungry, we grabbed swimsuits, sunscreen, and backpacks in order to head out for Daaibooi Beach for lunch and swimming. Due to the fact today is Saturday, the beach was quite busy so we put our order in for lunch and the boys snorkeled for a bit while the girls reserved tables. Almost everyone on the team had frikendal and fries for lunch with sodas. Frikendal can best be described as a cross between our sausage and a hotdog. Lunch was amazing and certainly hit the spot! The afternoon was dedicated to enjoying the wonders of God’s creation around us both above water and below. While snorkeling, a variety of tropical fish were seen including multiple barracuda and even a moray eel. The Lord even blessed us with a lot of sea turtles in the bay and we have never seen sea turtles there before. Gotta love it when God puts an exclamation point on your day like that!

Sun kissed and cooled down we packed up and headed back to the Youth Centre for showers and dinner. Dinner tonight was an island favorite called Kapsalon. Kapsalon is a version of loaded fries. The bottom layer of the dish is french fries covered by a generous layer of cheese. The cheese is topped with chunks of some type of meat (chicken tonight), then that is topped with salad. A variety of condiments can be used to top it all off and we had choices of peanut sauce, sweet chili sauce, ketchup, curry ketchup, ranch, and mayonnaise. Swimming and sun all afternoon made everyone hungry and we ate two and a half large serving trays full :). This feast was topped off with white chocolate or chocolate ice cream bars. Lucas asked the kids to sing a song during worship tomorrow so they are getting ready to practice in the sanctuary. Once they are done, we will watch a movie and then head to bed. When we were driving home from the beach today, one of the kids said today felt like two days and it really was that full in the best of ways! Looking forward to tomorrow and worshipping with the people of Iglesia Bida Nobo.

Buenas noches,
Lisa
