Oi!
It’s been a few days since we could share due to service, but here we are Happy and Healthy. The last day that we lost service, we were in the community all day playing with the kids and holding a small clinic for meds and reading glasses. We ended that day in the community swimming with the kids in the river. The highlight for the kids was climbing the trees and jumping off into the water. We headed back to the boat, cleaned up, had dinner and went out sloth hunting in the boats.
The next day we started out with breakfast and devotions, and headed out into the rainforest for a hike. We learned how to build a shelter and start a fire. After our hike, we came back and went swimming, followed by lunch. After lunch, we had a little recovery time, and then we headed out to a home and learned how to make Tapioca from root. We also saw where they make fragrances and oils from tree bark. To end the night we went alligator hunting out on the Jon Boats.
We started off early this morning and headed out to a small island community on the boats in pouring rain a true Amazon experience. We did another small clinic and the kids played soccer out in the rain followed by who could catch the first chicken. Today after leaving the island, we will be having lunch and our afternoon will be swimming with the dolphins. Tonight we are excited to be going to a luau for dinner.
We are all having an amazing time what an experience this has been so far!!
