Our God is such an awesome God!!! When we arrived at the ticket gate early this morning, the Lord provided an angel in our ticketing agent Ariana. She processed all of our passports and luggage with a smile and made the whole procedure painless. We never had to show notarized parental consent forms or digital immigration forms. TSA couldn’t have been any easier, our flights were all on time, and our luggage all made it to Curaçao. When we went through immigration and customs, no paper work was ever requested and our passports were quickly scanned so we could be sent on our way to customs. The customs agent was sitting back in his chair with his arms crossed and waved us through, no scanning of luggage required. This was an unbelievable praise as I had two different video conferencing cameras, a fancy keyboard, all kinds of sound system equipment, doctor supplies, medications, clothing, books, and an assortment of odds and ends that could have had us having to declare quite a lot. Thank you so much all of you faithful prayer warriors!

Once we arrived outside HATO airport 30 minutes early, Lucas and Tristan (one of the youth leaders) came and picked us all up and brought us back to the Youth Centre. We unloaded our bags, made some introductions, and got settled in. We are so blessed this year because the college group that just left this morning refurbished the rooms where we are staying as well as the bathrooms, and they also created a lounge where we can meet for devotions, play games, and watch movies. The upgrades are so incredibly appreciated!

Details taken care of, we headed for a neighborhood tour and treated the team to batidos at Batido Express (a small food truck in the neighborhood). Batidos are fresh fruit smoothies made with or without milk and with or without sugar. They are delicious and the students are hooked and already asking to return to the stand! Favorite flavors today were mango, raspberry, papaya, and passion fruit. Refreshed and rejuvenated, we walked back to the Youth Centre and played a game as a whole team including Sem and Zoe (two of Lucas and Esther’s kids). The team is already bonding nicely and I looked forward to watching them serve and play together over the next ten days!

After our game time, we were served an outstanding spaghetti bolognese dinner with salad followed by homemade vanilla ice cream. Our chef is Jerseley and he has been serving our teams for three years now. Everyone was raving about dinner and it was one of the highs mentioned for the trip thus far. Our KP team consisting of Luke C., Ryne, Kelsey, and Ellie cleaned up after dinner so we could head up to the lounge for our devotional time. We focused on Proverbs 18:12 and had a very nice time of sharing. Devotions were followed by highs and lows for the day and the highs just kept coming. The students are headed to shower and get some sleep since last night was such a short night. We will be up early and off to do our first service project tomorrow.

Stay tuned and to God by the glory!
