Day 1 - Staying Awake - Taking It All In

We made it and accomplished a lot on our first day. Our flight got in on time and getting through customs was a breeze. After getting something to eat we were picked up by our incredible ministry partner and leader, Mr. Andrew McGillivray. We went straight to Circular Quay and the iconic Sydney Opera House where the students enjoyed taking photos. We were met by some of my family and they provided great info to the students about Australia.

Next we drove about 2 hours to the central coast. We had afternoon tea with more family and the students enjoyed swimming together. This helped to wake them up. They made us wonderful Australian food and the students tried Vegemite. Supposedly they all like it but Cooper. I’m with her - not a fan of it! It was so kind of them to host us.

We are now settling in for the evening at our accommodation waiting to have pizza. We will be picked up tomorrow morning at 8 for the first leg of our outback adventure.

Thanks for your prayers. We ask for a good sleep tonight and safe travels tomorrow. Please pray for our students as they learn more and more about the aboriginal people and how we may encourage them in Jesus.
