Praise God for His Grace and traveling mercies!
2 flights and 2800 miles traveled and we arrived safely in the Dominican Republic with no issues.
Throughout the day the team was asked by many strangers, what they were traveling for and they had the opportunity to explain that they were part of Valley Christian High School and going across the world for a mission trip! The kindness each of the players have shown to the hotel workers, bus drivers and staff is something that should make all of their parents proud. Praise God that even in the smallest of interactions, God is being represented well!
The team is adjusting great and bonding in a way they never have before. Once we got to the hotel, many of them went and played in the ocean, others played catch on the beach, a pretty competitive spike ball game broke out and a few of them got their hair braided by some local women on the beach!
The evening devotional and reflection surrounded everyone sharing what their expectations are for this week. Listening to these young men share about wanting to draw closer to Christ, to each other, and to use this week to have a grateful heart for everything we have back home, was the highlight of my day!!
God is already moving! Praise Him!
